| michaeldauben's Full Review: Stamina Products Band Flex Gym 50-0202 |
I bought the Stamina Band Flex Gym together with the Stamina 7000 Upright Bike a short while ago in the Internet for exactly $500 (Gym $320, Bike $180), including shipping. The Band Flex comes in 2 boxes, the Exercise Bike in one box. I found the Packaging of the Gym to be o.k., but not perfect. Some minor scratches on the frame as a result of this are unavoidable, but not a big issue. I assembled the bike in about 1.5 hours, the Band Flex in 4 hours, including unpacking. The assembly instructions for the Band Flex have some minor mistakes, but as long as you follow the very detailed instructions step by step, it is actually very easy to put everything together, no open questions. Everything was complete, no single screw or washer was missing. Pre-measuring the length of the different bolts using the chart in the book definitely helps for the following assembly. Once everything is put together, the Gym makes a pretty good impression; the quality for the price is outstanding in my eyes. This is true for the Bike as well. The Workout Manual for the Gym features 13 main exercises with good descriptions as well as a variety of alternate exercises which are only shown in 2 pictures for each exercise. I find that the main exercises meet my needs, the others offer options I may never use. If you combine the 13 main exercises in a little different order than shown in the book, you can actually minimize the setup changes between the exercises, what makes the handling of the Gym pretty easy. It takes me around 50 minutes to get a good workout with the Gym (2 sets of the 13 exercises), which I think is a very reasonable time. After a little break, I find it the perfect combination to have a 20 minute or 5 mile ride on the Upright Bike. It is easy to find a very natural and ergonomic position on the bike, and the electronic meter shows the most important information. I think people who are more than 6 feet tall may have a problem with the seat height, although it can be adjusted in 5 different levels. Overall I feel specifically the combination of the Band Flex Gym together with the Upright Bike is the perfect alternative to joining a real Gym and spending a lot of money on an annual basis, not to forget that you have to get there first. The Stamina equipment offers an unbelievable value for the price in my eyes, also if you compare it to the more famous competitors. I can highly recommend it, in fact this is why I am writing my first product review ever on Epinions.
