I was searching for several weeks for a home gym under $400 that could fold up when not in use. After reading several reviews and visiting local sporting goods stores, I decided on the Stamina LT2000. I ordered from Wal-Mart online, and the gym was received one week to the day of ordering - much quicker than advertised at checkout.
The gym arrived in 2 boxes. Both boxes arrived together and in good shape. Upon opening and inspecting the contents, I found one wheel on the base was broken and after a quick call to customer service I had the replacement in a few days. I would give Stamina's customer service a good rating.
From the time I unpacked all the parts to completion of assembly took just under 3 hours. I worked alone, but the pulley attachments would have gone a little quicker with another set of hands. The instructions and illustrations were easy to follow, but a word of warning - measure every bolt before you use it. They are very close in size, some have only a 1/8" difference in length.
I used a set of wrenches for assembly. The instructions also indicate the need for a rubber mallet, but I never used it.
The gym seems very well constructed and solid - nothing jiggles or moves that shouldn't.
Switching bands to adjust resistance is very easily accomplished. I find that I am able to adjust tension within seconds for each of the 8 different exercises I utilize.
After using this gym for the past two weeks, the only complaint I have is that the seat could use more padding, but it is not a serious enough problem to stop me from giving this my recommendation.
Keep in mind - this is not a BowFlex, Gold's Gym or any other high end brand. For the dedicated bodybuilder, there are better choices, but for the typical home user that just needs to stay in shape, this is a great machine at a great price.
