| PhoenixFlight's Full Review: The North Face Stamina |
As I lay on my back staring at the up into the universe, I reflected back on the two days it took me to reach my camping site and the stamina that I had to have to get where I was. Of course I am not talking about personal stamina, I am talking about the Stamina backpack from North Face.
At just under 7lbs, the Stamina pack is a perfect addition to my outdoor gear because of its lightweight and body contouring comfort. Climbing over rocks, trees, and moving through the forest at a brisk pace, the Stamina molds to my body unlike any pack I have ever owned.
One of the main things besides weight and comfort that brought me to purchase the Stamina was the added feature of a pouch in the main compartment that allows me to insert a hydration pack (water bottle) so that I dont have to fumble with a canteen while hiking or otherwise carry an alternative water source on the outside of the pack.
The dual chamber main compartment gives you the option to carry your sleeping bag inside of the pack for day trips or the ability to segregate your supplies into two separate sections for longer trips. I personally choose to carry my sleeping bag underneath the pack as a way to achieve a better center of gravity and dispersal of weight while I am hiking but it is a nice option to have available.
The Stamina employs an ergonomically designed X-frame that provides incredible support while I am hiking. Without all of the extra supports and rods you normally find on a multi-day pack, the Stamina molds to your body like moss on the north side of a tree.
With multiple accessory pouches I have no problem getting everything I need to fit in the Stamina with space to spare. Made from a combination of Nylon and IronFiber and including a very durable skid patch, I can conceivably think that this is the last pack that I will ever own based on its sturdy construction.
The Stamina is expensive but well worth the money. I consider North Face to be the leading manufacturer of outdoor products and generally purchase any equipment or clothing for outdoor use made by them with the utmost confidence that I am getting the very best quality for my money.
If you are in the market for a high quality, comfortable pack for your hiking needs, you need not look any further than the Stamina by North Face.
